:
The League structure starts with the Little League at the bottom
of the pyramid. The Little League city/town/district franchises provide children
from the ages of 6-11 to play in their communities with their parents/friends/neighbours.
The purpose of the Little League is to encourage sports through the participation
of friends and family at a level and location where the children find themselves
the most influenced. The Little League structure has competitions at the city/state
and national level
Once children reach the age of 11 or reach Grade 7, they are more influenced by
their friends and school environment
The Professional Leagues pick their teams based on the team owners need and mix
of team. Since this requires sports at the highest level, the professional leagues
pick talent
The Major and Minor leagues are amateur leagues that pick their teams out of the
community based leagues that are participatory
The community based leagues are meant to increase participation and interest in
sports and are consequently open to all. They encourage participation at the parent/child
level, street level and community level
The Leisure based leagues are “fun” leagues
The Networking leagues like Corporate League leverage sports to build networks
The Celadon Sports structure has 4 key divisions:
a) By Sports – Cricket, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton
b) By Country – India, China, Singapore, HK, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia,
Pakistan, Bangladesh
c) By Sporting level – Little League, Minor League, Major League, Premier League
d) By age - Little League, School League, College League
